DIRT MODIFIED: Berneil Mills Runs Seventh At Lake Cumberland Speedway
AUGUST 29TH, 2012 (ST. LOUIS, MO) This past Saturday eleven drivers entered the Lake Cumberland Speedway complex with a chance at victory. Kentucky area dirt modified drivers all with the same goal in mind, to cross under the flag stand baring a fluttering checkered flag ahead of the remainder of the field. However, only one driver could deposit the $700 check, payable to the winner.
Berneil Mills started off the night with a qualifying run of ninth overall. Following the qualifying run, Mills finished his heat in the fourth position. This landed him toward the back of the starting grid for the twenty lap main event around the 3/8 mile Lake Cumberland Speedway. The break between the heat and main event allowed time for needed adjustments to the #19 Mills Auto machine. Mills slowly progressed though the field to cross the line seventh behind the race winner.
Berneil Mills is literally testing new grounds during his 2012 racing season. In the past Mills pounded pavement ovals in search of victory. This year marks a year of testing as he enters dirt tracks and unloads his Lightning Chassis dirt modified. The most important thing is to enter races and complete laps while consistently learning and progressing week after week.
