DIRT MODIFIED: Tommy Bailey Runs 2nd at 201 Speedway For Berneil Mills Racing
OCTOBER 1ST, 2012 (ST. LOUIS, MO) 201 Speedway sat somberly dormant for the past two years. However, this past Saturday night fans lined up outside the gates at the Kentucky speedway to spectate the highly anticipated reopening. Dirt drivers filled the pits ready to concur the 3/8 mile clay oval.
Berneil Mills took the car owner role over the weekend, a seat of familiar territory this season. Mills would sit atop the hauler as Tommy Bailey piloted the #19 dirt modified for the third event during the 2012 season. Previously, Bailey drove the Lightning Chassis to victory lane with two straight wins back in June of this year as the team circled Lake Cumberland Speedway.
Eighteen open wheel modified machines lined up to qualify in front of the packed hillside stands. Creating a jubilant sight from fellow dirt track fans as well as drivers after the speedway sat in gloom for the past few years. Tommy Bailey started the night without much of an oversight, putting the car second on the time sheets.
The qualifying run established an outside pole starting position in the heat race. Bailey went on to cross the line ahead of the field.
The main event, the next target in line for Berneil Mills Racing. Once again, Bailey would start on the outside pole in anticipation of his third victory from behind the cockpit of the #19. However, the team came up just shy of a victory crossing under the flag stand in the runner up position.
Stay tuned to the team social media pages for upcoming track appearances. Bernail Mills is excited to provide his sponsor logos featured on the #19 car another trip to victory circle in the near future.
